One of the nice things about being a Communication major is that it is a very broad subject. This is especially important for someone like me, who still doesn't know what they want to do after they graduate. I came into NC State undecided before landing on Communication. It is an area that aligns with my interests whether that be media analysis, rhetoric, or design. One of my favorite classes that I have taken at State was on newsletter design. I've also enjoyed some of the more theory-heavy class that focused on commouication infrastructure, analysis and political economy.
My work experience encompasses multiple jobs in the service industry as well as time spent writing for a blog. I am currently working towards finding an internship this summer which will hopefully bring added clarity as to what I want to do post graduation.
I watch a lot of sports, particularly basketball and football. My favorite teams are the Cincinnati Bengals and the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Bengals just had and the Cavaliers are currently having a really enjoyable season. Both teams are very young and on the rise. The Bengals ended up making a surprise run to the Super Bowl where they lost to the Los Angeles Rams. The Cavaliers were expected to be one of the worst teams in the NBA coming into the season but they are now in the thick of the Eastern Conference playoff race.
I like playing video games quite a bit too. I mostly play sports games like NBA 2K or Madden but I mix it up every once in a while. When I play video games, I like to listen to a podcast or watch TV while I am playing. This is a significant factor as to why I play sports games because I am good enough at them that I can play them on mute. They also aren't very stressful so it makes for a more relaxing overall experience. My favorite game of all time is Red Dead Redemption 2.
Over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic I have really gotten in movies. I really enjoy dramas and a good thriller when I'm in the right mood. Unfortunately, due to the busyness of school and life, I haven't been able to watch as many this semester.
